Importance of the CIS applications

CIS supports its participants with the CIS database, among other things. This database includes claims (17.5 million) from almost all Dutch insurers and is used for risk assessment in underwriting and claims in the insurer's operational process. Every day, about 9,500 people, divided over the 328 CIS participants, use the CIS systems. The valuable data from CIS forms the basis for thousands of decisions every day, including in 9 out of 10 cases the reason for starting investigations into insurance fraud.

In addition, CIS offers its participants the opportunity to test customers against sanction lists (635 million times in 2022) and to find out the natural person behind a company by means of its UBO check application (31 million times in 2022). In this way, CIS supports its participants in complying with laws and regulations imposed on them.

Innovation and growth

Since 2018, AMIS Conclusion has played a supporting role for CIS in its central position within the insurance sector. In addition to the management and maintenance of the CIS application landscape, AMIS is responsible for the further development of the platform. Over the past five years, the CIS DevOps team has experienced impressive growth from 3 to 14 people. This has not only led to increased professionalization, but also to more than 15 innovations. For example, an app has been launched where consumers can gain insight into their CIS registration in accordance with the GDPR's right of access. The UBO application has also been developed, with which, as mentioned, CIS participants can gain insight into the natural persons behind a company.

Digital insurance services

The extension of the agreement with AMIS Conclusion highlights the shared commitment of CIS and AMIS Conclusion to improve and accelerate digital services within the insurance sector. Numerous innovations are planned for the future, especially in the field of risk assessment, compliance with the Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing (Prevention) Act (WWFT) and the implementation of the Sanctions Act.

Anne van Doorn, director CIS foundation

"CIS will continue its collaboration with AMIS Conclusion as its IT partner. This continuation is based on several factors, including the performance and successful development of new propositions over the past five years. The implementation of the UBO check and CIS-Inspection app, among other things, form a strong basis for further cooperation."

Andre van Dalen, CEO AMIS Conclusion

"From the beginning, we have worked together with the CIS employees to professionalize the platform and the mutual cooperation. Our team works seamlessly with the employees of CIS, and that's how a partnership should work. Together we will move towards new innovations in the financial sector."
