Optimization of processes

For an effective health analysis, livestock farmers, veterinarians and public services must have quick and unambiguous access to the right information, and at the lowest possible cost. An optimal design of the chain is indispensable in this regard.

Use of Product Services Catalog

In the context of process improvements within the animal health chain, we have focused on rationalising, accelerating and simplifying the health analyses in the laboratory. When sampling, the analysis is digitally registered in accordance with a standardized product service catalog (PDC), which ensures faster processing in the laboratory. Both the desired examinations and any follow-up examinations are recorded on the basis of this standardised PDC. The digital registration is linked to the back office, so that results are made available to veterinarians and livestock farmers via an online portal.

Main project objectives

The most important internal objectives to achieve the chain optimization were:

  • Standardizing and simplifying the business processes;
  • Digitizing business operations;
  • Implementing new, simplified business applications, based on the defined and digitized business processes

To achieve this, AMIS Conclusion provides a controlled integration of SaaS solutions and all other standard solutions within this chain, based on a Service Oriented Architecture. This process manages the digital registration, the sample reception, the data provision in the ERP system during various process steps, the control of the Laboratory Management System and the reporting via the portal. This information hub is therefore the spider in the web for this chain.

The result

The impact of this new way of working is impressive. Significant savings in working hours have been achieved, the processes have become more transparent and transparent, and the provision of information to livestock farmers and veterinarians has been greatly improved. Moreover, standardization and the elimination of handwritten notes reduce the risk of information loss, which further increases the quality of service.
